GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets removed Tastee Caramel Apples from sale due to a recall.



Stop and Shop has recalled caramel apples that may contain peanuts, an unlisted ingredient on their label.

The recall includes Tastee Caramel Apple in the 3 ounce size with UPC 3526600027 and a best by date of 9/29/15. Stop and Shop supermarkets have voluntarily taken them off their shelves. The product is safe for anyone who does not have a peanut allergy.

The stores have not received any reports of illnesses, the release says.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
