A few weeks later, during a PAX panel in Seattle, they were generous enough to give us info on the release year (“We will officially release Final Fantasy XV in 2016.”) and the character Luna (“We’re actually going to reveal some more information concerning Luna at our Tokyo Game Show event.”).

Director of “Worlds of Final Fantasy” Hiroki Chiba speaks during the Square Enix press conference at the JW Marriott on June 16, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. The five-minute trailer features Chocobo’s antics and a fishing mini-game.

“Fishing will be an integral part of the hunting and cooking process in the game”.

As for fishing, players can try this out whenever they stumble upon bodies of water inside the game. This is done by casting their own fishing poles and waiting for a fish to bite. Once caught, fishes can be cooked and consumed in order to receive a status buff. We will post an update once more details are available.

The lovable Chocobos will be making their presence felt in Final Fantasy XV.

There will also be at least one new magic spell featured in the game. According to Gamespot, players can make the Chocobos walk, run, and even jump so that they can reach other places on the map they would not be able to get to otherwise.

In true role-playing game (RPG) fashion, Final Fantasy XV will also give gamers the opportunity to engage in mundane tasks, including fishing. As with the going trend right now, there doesn’t seem to be too much in the way of details just yet either. You can check out the announcement video below.
