The mines named in the announcement included: Golden Sunlight, Ruby Hill, Round Mountain, Bald Mountain, Hilltop, as well as Spring Valley. The president seemed satisfied with the level of interest, expecting to complete the deal by the end of 2015.



The company announced last month that it would sell six of its USA gold mines and projects to help lower its debt by at least $3 billion during 2015, Reuters reported. (NYSE:YUME) said that, WeatherNation can now “stitch” video ads directly into their OTT (over-the-top) video stream for a greatly improved user experience, thanks to a collaboration with Kaltura, a recognized leader in the OTT market and YuMe, the global audience technology company powered by data-driven technologies and multi-platform video expertise. The gold producer had already laid off 20 employees earlier this year and is now planning to lay off the majority of its 110 office workers. It follows the shutdown of Barrick’s Perth bureau and job cuts in its Santiago office.

The Cortez mine is located 100 kilometers southwest of Elko, Nevada, is one of the US assets Barrick is trying to sell. However, the company was not averse to considering individual sale of the assets if the overall value attainable was the same or more than the package-sale.

Barrick is also planning to integrate its standalone copper unit into the company to reduce overhead costs and headcounts.

On 15 September, Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) said that, it has filed an updated 43-101 report for its Lagunas Norte gold mine in the Alto Chicama district. It is looking for new alternatives to drive up productivity and lower operating costs as it looks to avoid a “junk status” credit rating.

On last trading day Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX) decreased -1.32% to close at $6.75.
