The app, which is now available for download, is designed to help Android users transfer their content from an Android device to an iOS device. But things have changed, and now here’s a download link to Send you on your way.

It might be a bit presumptuous to assume that Android users will want to switch to iOS in the first place, but when you actually think about it, not really.

Rather than sync everything over the cloud, Apple uses a pretty clever strategy to transfer everything from your Android phone to iPhone. To complete this process, the setup process on iOS will offer a code to give Move to iOS for matching up the devices. However, Apple’s iCloud-based security feature isn’t Android friendly. As of today, Microsoft has also expanded support, for both iPhone and Android, to the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Denmark. As excited as we all are for the release, Apple is also said to be launching its new app for Android, called “Move To iOS”.

In what’s either a subtle dig at the quality of Android devices, or an honest assessment that you probably won’t need your old phone once you start using a new one, the screen that’s displayed after your data is transferred lets you know that you can recycle your device by bringing it into an Apple Store. “No need to save your stuff elsewhere before switching from Android”.

“Everything about iOS is created to be easy”. Any paid apps part of the exchange will be moved to the iTunes Wish List. It’s no surprise that Apple plans to launch an Android version of Apple Music at some point, although there is still no details on an exact launch date for the release of the app, but it may come as unexpected to some or many that Apple has had another app waiting in the wings to release to the Play Store.

So kudos to Apple for the Move to iOS app for Android.
