As there is going to be tremendous demand for iOS 9, it could take several hours before the actual download start.

The installation process can sometimes require you to free up more space than is actually required for the software, so for the first time Apple will temporarily delete apps and then reinstate them after the update is completed. You’re now ready to use iOS 9. Then download and update.

To perform a clean install of iOS 9 you can use the special click option on Restore.
