The Changi Museum is named the top museum in Singapore in TripAdvisor’s annual Top 10 Traveller’s Choice Museums awards on Tuesday (Sep 15).

In partnership with the Victoria Film Festival and Vic Theatre, the museum will show one feature length and three short documentary films made by B.C. filmmakers. “It lets your mind travel to all the places you always wanted to go”, the website said in its description of the museum, apparently citing a user comment.

The National World War II Museum has scored a prestigious ranking as the third-best museum in the country.

Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764, the Hermitage is the biggest museum in Russian Federation and one of the biggest in the world with only a fraction of its collection of more than 3 million items on display. “Travelers’ Choice Museums brings to the fore gems that enrich the holiday experience by helping us connect and understand the glorious heritage of a destination”. In total, 591 winners were identified, including the top 25 in the world and dedicated lists for Asia, Canada, Europe, India, South America, South Pacific, the United Kingdom and the US.

The museum along Upper Changi Road North beat the likes of the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) and the National Museum of Singapore, to take top spot in the awards based on reviews of TripAdvisor travellers over the past year.
