The victims, a 28-year old woman and a 28-year-old man, were rushed to hospital.



The incident happened at 9:50 p.m.at steakhouse Michael’s on Simcoe. Paul Ward said the victims are expected to survive.

The owner of the restaurant says the couple shot was sitting at the back of the restaurant when the suspects went straight to their table and opened fire.

A gunman is being sought after a man and woman were wounded in a shooting at a downtown restaurant Sunday night, Toronto Police say.

Speaking to reporters Monday morning, Det.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the couple involved in the targeted shooting and we wish them both a speedy recovery”.

Detailed information on potential suspects has not yet been released but investigators say they are working on releasing surveillance camera images captured from inside the restaurant.

Detectives said they are reviewing security footage shot inside the restaurant at the time.
