Looks like Twitter is now testing a whole bunch of creative and funky editing tools. The new tools were tested by celebrities at the VMAs and include the ability to put stickers and drawings on videos. It’s not yet known if the features will be included in a new app or baked into the current Twitter apps. As of now, no information has been provided whether these tools are a part of the Twitter app itself or will be introduced as a standalone app.

So far, there is no word what are the exact tools that Twitter is now testing but by looking at the shared images by celebrities, it looks like soon users will be able to add stickers, doodles, text, and more in images and videos before sharing them on Twitter. The existing tools on Twitter could be used only for cropping images and changing appearance with the help of available filters.

Of course, while Twitter might be trying to take market share from other social media services, it’s not the only one. Dowson is anxious to know how these new features are positioned by the company. Lara sent out several tweets shouting out several of music’s biggest names for using Twitter’s new “photo tricks” and camera tools. Instagram in particular – with its 300 million strong user base – is already miles ahead in the race, and the fact that it is Facebook-owned can hardly be supposed to make it any easier on twitter. Twitter is now joining the party. Reportedly, Facebook is working on developing a tool to supplant Twitter’s role as a breaking news wire. Of note, earlier this month, Twitter removed the 140-character limit on tweets.
