“The Pakistani nation and its armed forces can go to any extent to secure its borders and safeguard its sovereignty”. “The spirit to sacrifice and will to survive has led to making us a nuclear nation”, he remarked.



Mamnoon Hussain said in his message that no compromise on defense of Pakistan.

“Sons of soil proved Pakistan cannot be cowed down”, he added.

The prime minister said the day reminds us of the unflinching resolve, determination, courage and bravery of the Pakistani nation.

In this historical fight, the Armed Forces defeated enemy historically, he said, adding “in this hour of ordeal, our martyrs and Ghazis (survivors) set such examples of valour, needing to be followed by the nations across the world”.

“Our courageous officers and soldiers following the footprint of their glorious past continue to successfully defend the country from internal and external threats”, he said.

The year has been marked as the Golden Jubilee of 1965 War, when PAF vanquished a three times larger Indian Air Force and wrote an epic of unmatched valour and sacrifice.

He said they were fully conscious of the fact that a vibrant and active air force was not only meant to support the Armed and Naval Forces, but was also important for achieving the country’s strategic goals.

The President and the Prime Minister paid tributes to all those who laid down their lives and lost their loved ones in 1965 and 1971 wars and the on-going war against terrorism. “The government and the armed forces of Pakistan are taking all necessary steps for the rehabilitation and return of the internally displaced persons”, he said.

“Undoubtedly Pakistan is a responsible and peaceful nuclear power”.

President Mamnoon Hussain reiterated that Pakistan is a peace loving country and it wants peace in the region.

The Air Chief said, “Today, let us re-pledge to make Pakistan a truly dynamic and prosperous country by firmly following the great Quaid’s golden principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline as our national ideals”.

The President expressed his pleasure over the splendid fly- past by the PAF pilots who manifested their resolve and passion for country’s defence besides their professionalism.
