Day-use fees will be waived at standard amenity fee sites operated by the Santa Fe National Forest, except for those reserved in advance through Recreation.gov. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for the weather and for trail improvement projects. The fee-free coupon is valid for one year from date of issue and may be used for one day of entrance or day use fees at any participating federal agency’s park, forest or recreation area that charges either of these types of fees. Work will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. “From the top of the China Wall Trail, participants will have an opportunity to either return to the trailhead for a shorter volunteer day or continue to work on constructing a portion of the new East Ridge Trail”.

“Odlin County Park is glad to be a part of the National Public Lands Day tradition on the San Juan Islands this year.” says David St. George, Park Manager. There is only space for 30 volunteers; you should register by September 21 for primary consideration. Volunteers are encouraged to contact Englebright Lake at 530-432-6427 for more information but can simply show up on September 19 to pitch in. All tools, supplies, and gloves will be provided by the park, along with lunch.

“The Kentucky State Parks can carry out the mission of National Public Lands Day thanks to the assistance we receive from our volunteers across the state”, Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said.

Thousands of volunteers are expected to support the more than 90 USACE projects participating in this year’s National Public Lands Day, the largest annual volunteer hands-on restoration activity of its kind. A signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation, it promotes both popular enjoyment and volunteer conservation of public lands.
