Aside from performance enhancements, new graphic capabilities, and the promise of better battery life, the 6th Gen Intel Core and Intel Xeon platforms will offer a variety connection options.

Intel has introduced the sixth-generation Core processor family, supporting a range of device designs – from the ultra-mobile compute stick, to 2-in-1s and high-definition all-in-one desktops, to new mobile workstations. “They enable state-of-the-art experiences like voice control and removing the hassle of managing passwords, as well as enhanced security”.

Intel estimates that there are more than 500 million computers in use today that are 4-5 years old or older.

The 6th Generation Intel Core processor is an all-out attack by Intel to dominate not only the personal computing space where it still holds sway but also the smartphone and the tablet space where it lost ground to player like ARM and Qualcomm.

Intel is hoping that the superior Windows 10 experience it claims to offer, along with the fast startup time of the chips will convince consumers to buy two-in-one computing devices rather than investing in mobile devices.

The Core M processor is now a line of CPUs, splitting into Core M3, M5 and M7 (analogous to the Core i3, i5 and i7 of the main Core chips).

Intel moved on to talk about PC gaming and the power its upcoming Iris graphics will provide. “What is incredible is that you will see SkyLake-based devices that will have the best characteristics of tablets like long battery life, touch, fanless, and an app store with the best characteristics of a PC-like performance, multitasking, and large displays”. The technology allows users to share information from their laptop to computers onto a projector, monitor, or TV, without connecting wires.

In the future months, Intel will release its Iris Graphics chip and more than 48 processors. New Intel Speed Shift technology improves the responsiveness of mobile systems so people can, for example, apply a photo filter up to 45 percent faster than previous processors from Intel.

But more than that, what matters is the trimmed design that’s to find the ideal fit in compact laptops and notebooks to match up with the offerings of tablet range of devices.
