An exact release date for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be launched in the fall.

The System UI Tuner that was first introduced in Android M’s preview 1 and 2 is back again in Android 6.0’s preview 3, only it’s not as easy to find as it once was. However, the company has now made it clear that Android’s upcoming update will be called Marshmallow.

Google said in a blog post that the preview images are near final but they are not intended for consumer use. With Android Pay, users will be able to pay for goods and services that are offered either in apps or in stores by just using their mobile phones. The support library has been updated to ease the integration of the operating system’s new platform APIs. Additionally, the app drawer of the launcher doesn’t feature the vertical app sorting layout on non-preview ROMs, as it’s currently only available on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In addition, Android Marshmallow features fingerprint support, Doze power saving mode, and a new permissions model.

These new and refreshing images will help you get the Marshmallow goodness on your devices even if you don’t own a Nexus handset. Supported Nexus devices include Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player which will receive an Over-the-Air (OTA) update over the next couple days. Since the update back then was still without a name, they were only referring to it as the Android M, according to CNet.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes after Android 5.0 Lollipop, which featured changes in user interface and appearance in last year’s OS, the report adds.
