A computer generated image of the child was shared millions of times. ‘I used to see her every day.

“I can’t believe a mother could do that to her child”, she said.

For 85 days it seemed like nobody did.

The girl’s mother and her mother’s boyfriend have been charged over the death, CNN reported. After months of searching for answers, police arrested Rachelle and Michael on September 18 when search warrant was issued at their home; Michael charged with murder.

We have yet to learn the details of Bella’s family life.

The Boston Globe reports Rachelle Bond told investigators that McCarthy had lashed out at the girl as being possessed or being a demon.

Sgt. Mark Jackson, a spokesman with the Fitchburg Police Department, confirmed that Bond is a former resident of the city, but said “there is no connection between what happened and Fitchburg”.

Governor Charlie Baker told reporters he had been briefed on the matter and that state child welfare workers had had contact with the family before the girl’s disappearance. She wasn’t. And why did DCF not provide better support for Bella? Bond is charged with accessory after the fact. Because of the mother’s history with DCF, neighbors apparently assumed that the child had been taken from her custody. They were adopted by Bond’s mother. The other was adopted by a family unrelated to Bond.

Dozens of complete strangers left flowers and said prayers on Deer Island for a little girl who, until Friday, was only known as “Baby Doe”. In both cases, officials described the involvement as “support for neglect, ” and the cases were later closed. Another said they had been “obsessed” with the case.

When Bella was found dead on a beach, DCF says the agency tried to help.

Conley said he received at least 10 offers from people, including Cardinal Sean O’Malley, who wanted to pay for the little girl’s burial. The new image shows the toddler with pierced ears.

But they never reached out to Bella.

Jane Cuddy, a Winthrop resident, said the case has rocked her town.

Her big brown eyes, long brown hair and chubby cheeks stole the nation’s heart. Officials plan to release more information about Bella’s death Monday.

Bella’s aunt said she didn’t recognize her niece, even after seeing the digital image that was eerily similar to Bella. The child had lost somewhere between 12-15 pounds. How could the state not recognize the child whose remains were discovered earlier this year?

What’s in store for Bella’s caregivers is yet to be determined.

Conley would not specify what they believe to be the cause of death in the case, but said the girl’s body was likely on Deer Island for approximately 36-72 hours. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office told NBC News that the “investigation remains very active but, beyond that, we have no updates to share”. The sisters last saw one another in January. The Daily Beast asks an important question.
