‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ to feature villain the Blob?

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Blob made his first appearance in The X-Men #3 (January 1964).

Instagram user Benofk_funko recently posted a souvenir keychain from the set of ‘Apocalypse, ‘ where he spent four days on the set hanging out with the cast. The Blob – who previously appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine – will join the cavalcade of mutants set to take the floor in the newest X-Men film. But he also said that revealing it to the Comic Con audience gives a perspective about the film through the opinion of die-hard fans, which is good.

The film also stars Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, Lana Condor, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh Helman, Rose Byrne, and Oscar Isaac, among others. After which he stated ‘the Blob.’ He noted that a 540-pound French-Canadian actor will play the role of the Blob instead of creating a fat suit or any CGI to bring the character to life, shared by Latin Post. He is impervious to a lot of physical injury by virtue of his mass, and his powers include extreme strength and the ability to generate a gravity field that makes him immovable as long as he’s on the ground.

Blob last appeared in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and was played by Kevin Durand.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” has not confirmed whether The Blob would be joining their production or not.

X-Men: Apocalypse” already has the Four Horsemen (Magneto, Storm, Psylocke and Angel) on its list of supervillains. It was meant for the conference audience but the trailer was later leaked online.

In any case, any more additional rumors to the “X-Men: Apocalypse” characters will definitely make it the most-anticipated movie of 2016.

In an interview with SlashFilm, producer Hutch Parker denied that the footage leaks was designed as part of a marketing plan as some people claim.

The upcoming “X-Men” series has outlined May 27 2016 as release date.
