Police in Brooklyn are searching for the driver of a minivan after a woman was struck and killed while crossing the street.
Investigators say 59-year-old Marlene Zotti was trying to cross midblock 42nd Street and 9th Avenue, in Borough Park.
One person is in custody following a hit-and-run that killed a 59-year-old woman while she crossed a Brooklyn street while using a walker, authorities said.
The suspect turned himself in about 6:30 a.m. Monday to the 68th Precinct in Bay Ridge, sources said.
A woman who works as a super in a building nearby said there are often problems at that intersection.
She was running errands when she urged her brother not to wait around for her, said the distraught sibling, Robert Medina, 55.
Ortiz, who police said had no prior arrests, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
