Wanted Florida man taunts Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook

Thornton was arrested on August 14, but Hale remained at large. Judd said with all the seriousness of the job he appreciates some levity and is having fun with this. Hale and Tyler Thornton, 20, burglarized a home in Lakeland area August. 3, according to PCSO.

The sheriff’s office has teamed up with Heartland Crime Stoppers to offer a $500-plus reward in the case. “LOL can’t hurt much now”, Logan Hale commented on a law enforcement post seeking information on his whereabouts.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said Friday it nabbed Logan Hale after a week of mocking taunts from the 21-year-old Lakeland man on social media. “Just got done doing two years up the road”.

He may have had the first laugh, but it looks like the Polk County Sheriff’s Office- and specifically Sheriff Grady Judd- will have the last.

Hale has taken up residence in the Polk County jail five times already, but if authorities have it their way, there will be a sixth occasion.

Hale apparently began leaving messages on the post under the name Logan FinallyFree Hale, taunting deputies.

Other people left comments on the website telling him to surrender, and the sheriff’s office left several comments advising him to turn himself in. “Or give us a call – we’ll be happy to provide transportation”, the department wrote.

This time he got a more comprehensive warning from officers.

He even changed his profile name to “Logan Finallyfree Hale”. Hale, 21, is wanted on charges of armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm, giving false information to a pawn broker and dealing in stolen property. With their success in capturing the fugitive, Sheriff Grady Judd described Logan’s taunts on Facebook as an epic fail.
