If you haven’t used an app in awhile, for example, it will be dumped into Nextbit’s cloud storage and show up as a grayed-out icon, freeing up space on your device. This Friday that will be rectified, and a new version of the Robin supporting Verizon bands will be available, with early bird units at just $299 and then $349 for the duration of the Kickstarter. The phone doesn’t just connect you to the cloud, it offloads unused phone content there.
In a recent announcement, Nextbit said that it is adding a Verizon model of its cloud-centric “Robin” smartphone to its hugely successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the handset. The Verizon version of the phone will go on sale at 10AM Pacific tomorrow.
If you aren’t already aware, the company has already raised more than one million dollars for the smartphone through a Kickstarter campaign.
The Robin Kickstarter vow page demonstrates the sums that patrons can put in, alongside the prizes that they will get for their venture. This means the Verizon version of NextBit will also have a 5.2-inch display, a 1080 x 1920p resolution and 441ppi pixel density.
So, is a Robin that supports Verizon what you have been waiting for? It supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and features a fingerprint sensor in the power button on the right side. The Robin is presently offered in mint-white and dark blue “midnight” colors.
The shipments should start in the first quarter of 2016.
