The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has been adjudged the Best Phone at the recently held TechRadar Phone Awards 2015, in London.
For the time being, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is only available in China and is delivered OTA (over the air) to Nokia N1 tablets.
One of the most popular tablets available on the market, Nokia’s N1 is now receiving the highly anticipated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade.
The slight curvature of the Galaxy S6 Edge, the world’s first dual edge also setit apart from other smartphones. The Next Digit also notes that Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy ALPHA, and Galaxy S5 will likely receive an Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with the flagship device.
There’s also a new feature called Screen Pinning, which allows users to lock the device to a single application.
This seems to be a plausible idea as normally new operating system releases tend to encounter problems upon release. Its flagship smart phone so far is the LG G4. This release confirmed that the two devices are getting prepared to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow once it will get released in October.
Anyway, as NPU points out, Nokia has been updating the N1 like insane, adding new features and improvements, not necessarily related to Android OS.
Samsung Galaxy S6 as well as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are already in the queue to receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade for US Cellular and T-Mobile carriers. Both handsets were launched with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop straight out of the box.
Many manufacturers and carriers are moving towards Android Lollipop 5.1.1 in anticipation of Android Marshmallow.
Sprint released its own Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update back in July and subsequently sent out a new version last week.
The new update is not going to be released for Galaxy S6 / Galaxy S6 Edge devices running custom ROMs.
Aside from the StageFright patch and other bug fixes, the new Sprint update also carries support for Samsung Pay, Live broadcasting via YouTube, and High Quality Audio for compatible Samsung headsets.
