Usain Bolt Wins 200m Race at World Championships, Gets Taken Out by

After his impressive photo-finish victory over America’s Justin Gatlin this weekend, Jamaica’s Bolt topped Galtin again, taking gold in the 200M at the World Championships Thursday in Beijing.

Usain Bolt had no doubts that he would beat Justin Gatlin in the 200 metres and claim his 10th World Championships title in Beijing.

Upon embarking on his momentous victory lap, things did for a moment come to a crashing halt for Bolt, with the 29-year-old soon finding himself being taken out by a photographer on a segway.

Kissing his vest and patting his chest before the race, Bolt quickly blew past Gatlin coming into the bend, surging clear to win in a season-leading time.

When Felix crossed the line, she tied Bolt for the most gold medals at the world championships with nine. “I am very happy with my silver today but it did not come easy to me”.

If Sunday’s victory in the 100m was unexpected, Bolt shrugging off rusty form and a stumbling semi-final to overcome his relentless rival, in the 200m he soared back to his supremely confident best.

Turns out, only a man on wheels can take down Usain Bolt.

Bolt said he knew he had to make a quick start and trust his finishing speed over the last 50 metres to see off Gatlin, who had run the best time of the year before Thursday’s final. “I never thought I would be here”.

Bolt qualified for the final yesterday by easing home in a season-best time of 19.96 seconds, despite cruising for the final 35m of the race.

Bolt had the race at his mercy halfway down the final straight before going on to win in 19.55 seconds. “Michael Johnson stop doubting me bro”.

Many felt the credibility of the sport was on the line, and it would’ve sent a negative message if a previously suspended athlete was world champion.
