Two Raptors came to Lask as a part of the inaugural F-22 training deployment to Europe.
The jets flew from their base in Florida to an air base in Germany and then made the short hop to Poland.
“The U.S.is conducting reconnaissance of abilities of operating this type of aircraft at an allied airport”, Polish army spokesman said.
James said the deployment would also give F-22 pilots more experience with the European terrain.
They’ll train with other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation air forces there.
The jets formally entered service in December 2005, with the last F-22 delivered to the in 2012. “We hope that in the future we will also bring to Europe F-35”. This is the first deployment to Europe for the F-22.
General Christopher J. Bence, Vice Commander, 3rd Air Force and 17th Expeditionary Air Force, said that “we will conduct the drills along with our European allies to prove, how the fifth generation of fighter planes work”.
