Try to land Elon Musk’s rocket in this ridiculously frustrating game

Elon Musk isn’t quite going after the impossible in his attempts to land a rocket on a barge. With the intention to make this a chance, the corporate must considerably cut back the price of launching rockets into area, which is why it’s engaged on methods to make the Falcon 9 rocket reusable. That’s because every single rocket today will burn up or become space junk the moment it launches.

SpaceX is trying to save money by landing the Falcon 9 rocket, a feat that has proven to be extremely difficult. Both of SpaceX’s attempts this year to land a rocket upright on a drone ship way out in the ocean ended in pretty fantastic explosions.

Now you can try to succeed where SpaceX has failed with the game SpaceX Falcon 9 Lander. The physics in the game aren’t entirely accurate as there’s more to landing a rocket on a ship than pressing the up arrow on a keyboard, but Dixiklo says he tried to get as close as he could. It would be difficult to determine whether or not the game is as hard as the real thing, but it will certainly take a while for the player to successfully land the rocket. The up arrow controls the rocket’s thrusters; hitting the left and right arrows helps you line up the rocket to land on the drone ship.

The creator, who goes by the name “Dixiklo”, tells me that he modified a lunar lander game he made using Scratch, an MIT-developed program that lets users code games without knowing too much about programming.

The 8-bit style game is the perfect way for space geeks to kill a few minutes throughout their day, so go ahead and try it already.

Great tip, I’d like to try… how do I get to the game? No link?
