Train Service Suspended From Trenton to New York on Northeast Corridor

New Jersey Transit trains are running again in and out of New York’s Penn Station after service was suspended because of Amtrak overhead wire problems.

The delays were a result of an ongoing problem with Amtrak’s overhead wires, and a disabled train inside of a tunnel.

Normal service resumed around 9 a.m. according to an NJ Transit tweet, but 30-minute delays still showed on their website until 10 a.m.

The issues caused around one-hour delays into and out of New York City. NJ Transit buses were also cross-honoring rail tickets.

PATH is accepting NJT rail tickets/passes in Newark Penn, Hoboken and New York 33rd St stations, an NJ Transit alert said.

The suspension were the latest in a string of headaches for NJ Transit riders this week.
