LUCY NICHOLSON/REUTERS Actress Zooey Deschanel, from the Fox sitcom ‘New Girl, ‘ arrives with Jacob Pechenik at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Back in January, the couple announced that they were both expecting and engaged.

There’s literally a new girl in town.

Deschanel gave birth to a “beautiful healthy baby girl” last week in Austin, Texas where Pechenik, a movie producer, is based.

Just to add another string to their bow, the happy couple are working together on an upcoming film called Rock The Kasbah, which also stars Bruce Willis and Bill Murray. She said, “Jacob and I are over the moon”. It’s more fun, you know. “We are so excited to meet our little one”.

In March, Deschanel explained on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that she wanted to “be surprised” and wait to find out the baby’s gender at delivery.

Zooey began dating Jacob in 2014 after they met on the set of a movie.

Deschanel did promise that there will be no “body after baby” pictures anytime soon, despite the Hollywood pressure to lose all the baby weight quick. My sister [Emily] was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. “We could make it into a game”, she joked.
