Leanne Lloyd, Christchurch practice nurse, got the New Zealand Nurses Organisation’s most prestigious title at a ceremony in Wellington last night.
Kerri Nuku claimed that Leanne’s passion for women’s health stems from her mother dying from cervical cancer and wanting women to have a positive experience and feel comfortable during their smear tests.
Leanne is devoted to her work in the community and she is not afraid of difficulties.
Leanne Lloyd established her own Independent Nursing Provider Service in 2012.
Leanne is a great specialist in primary care, including cervical screening clinics, health promotion, breast screening enrolments and support to mammography.
Also, she gives a support service for young mothers with new or second children under two, including medical support, social support and advocacy with government agencies and support with whanau.
Leanne is a valuable part of NZNO, she plays the major role within the health settings by supporting and encouraging nurses.
