The choice is between Tories and NDP: Mulcair

“In the first segment, the economy, the first question will go to Justin Trudeau, and the first leader to respond will be Stephen Harper“, Wells said.

Tonight is the first of at least four debates in the federal election campaign. The format, which has not been fully revealed by the organizers, will allow leaders to challenge each other, as well as fielding questions from Wells.

All leaders have agreed that I can intervene at any point.

“We have to make an assumption because we haven’t had any clarification”, said Stone, who checked the websites of several NDP candidates, to see where they stand on the issue.

“If I’m with my family or long-term friends, I’ve always been Tommy”, he said.

There will be a lot of rehearsing going on today by Canada’s four major political party leaders. That is a significant expansion.

“For us Conservatives, Quebec nationalism – nationalism that does not lead to the impasse of separation – is not a threat”, Harper told the Montreal rally.

Rob Stone, who farms near Davidson, Sask., said a six month old photo doesn’t prove that Mulcair supports GMO labeling.

“Particularly, if our economy is shaky, which it is, I think it is appropriate to run a small deficit”, she said. Here’s a clue: Canadians were still 10 times more likely to Google Minions than Stephen Harper. The Globe and Mail is organizing one for September 17, the College of Toronto’s Munk Debates is planning a pacesetter’s trade on overseas coverage and French community TVA will host one on common subjects on October 5.

“In recent years, these debates have become more complex, with questions coming from ever-larger panels of moderators, and hand-picked “ordinary Canadians” standing on street corners in front of TV news cameras”.

Mulcair visited the office of NDP candidate Jennifer Hollett in the Toronto riding of University-Rosedale, saying he’s ready for the showdown.

NDP spokesperson George Soule wouldn’t comment on what that means for Mr. Mulcair’s participation in the Up for Debate night, but pointed to a press release that states Mr. Mulcair is still considering proposals and will announce his final commitments on August 10.

Trudeau boxes once a week as a stress reliever, and competed in a much-publicized charity boxing event in March 2012 on behalf of “Fight for the Cure” against since-suspended Conservative senator Patrick Brazeau, who he defeated in the third round in what was considered an upset.

“He has failed to live up to his promise to grow the economy, because he insists on giving opportunities and tax breaks to the wealthiest Canadians”, Trudeau said.
