“It was made all the more sad and difficult by today’s arrest of another recent graduate of the Temple Law School”.
An arrest is expected in the shooting death of a Hockessin man that happened late last month.
Police in New Castle County later revealed that the car in which Uppal was found dead carried a substantial amount of marijuana in it, suggesting it was likely a targeted attack. His upper torso was riddled with bullets, and his death had been ruled a homicide by police. On August 24th at approximately 7:02 p.m., New Castle County Police Patrol Units were called to the parking lot in the 100 block of St. Claire Drive.
Chief Col. Elmer Setting said at a news conference Wednesday that a warrant had been obtained for 25-year-old Benjamin Rauf of Westerlo, New York.
This case may have gotten messier, but we at Above the Law would like to extend our continued condolences and sympathies to Shazim Uppal’s family, friends, and colleagues. School officials confirm Uppal graduated from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in July.
