The new season sees 20 fan-favorite competitors returning for their second chance at the Sole Survivor title, with only one emerging victorious in the end.

We’ve heard over time about some of the twists that are coming Wednesday night, from a marooning similar in some ways to the very first season of the show to immunity idols being hidden in challenges. Each week, the look of them will be different. Will the castaways be fearless enough to search for it with everyone watching them? or can they be sneaky about it? It’s only the third season in Survivor history to feature an all-star lineup of veteran players, making it one of the most anticipated editions of the show in its 31 season history.

“We’re going to run the first challenge, ‘Quest For Fire, ‘ at night – the same way we did 15 years ago”.

We’ll get all the castaways re-introduced and split up in to their tribes before heading off to the bare campsites that are about to get a lot of building going on. “And lo and behold, another year later I’m getting a phone call”. Both camps, Bayon and Ta Keo, are friendly and happy as they work on setting up shelter and settling in. It’s a good thing too because her tribe, Ta Keo, loses the comp and Kelly feels responsible after bungling the pole-build. Jeremy tries to smooth things over with Keith.

Day 2 and Jeff is unsure of where he stands.

Probst said the point of the game is to really play it and have fun. Meanwhile, Kelley Wentworth is out searching for an idol. She doesn’t find an idol, but she finds a clue for it and finds out that the idol will be at the Immunity Challenge!

We got Joega going on for the Bayon Tribe and Tasha is loving Joe’s body.

Along the way Kelley does manage to reach go back and snag the hidden idol despite the risk and having missed an initial opportunity. I thought I liked Vytas the first time, but he is rubbing me the wrong way tonight.

In the original challenge, the castaways had to guide a lit raft through shallow water. Along the way they had to light a number of torches, culminating in a final fire bowl in front of a giant bamboo statue. They will make their way to a stand and place their raft. Once they’ve arrived at the shore they have to assemble a long pole, lift a key, and then unlock the gate to reach the finish line. They also win materials to start a fire and a tarp for the firewood.

Jeff doesn’t waste any time launching the first challenge.

TRIBAL COUNCIL – It’s all about second chances and what this means to them. Time to find out who was voted off Survivor tonight.
