This weekend, astronauts at worldwide Space Station (ISS) entertained themselves with the upcoming space travel movie “The Martian”. The two saw the movie while they were on the global Space Station, and it looks like they loved the movie just as much as they did the experience.

Currently, American astronaut Kelly Scott and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Kornienko are aboard global Space Station and gathering information about future space journeys. It seems like the astronauts have a habit of watching space disaster flicks. “Watched @MartianMovie on @Space_Station last night!” The astronauts also spoke by phone with Damon, who was visiting NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The astronaut was presumed dead and had to fight for his survival in tough conditions. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Based on a best-selling novel, and helmed by master director Ridley Scott, The Martian features a star studded cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover.

So far, the film has received a 97 percent rating in Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics consensus saying that the movie is “smart, thrilling, and surprisingly amusing “. The Martian is set to open in theaters on October 2.
