Social Experiment Shows the Dangers of Predators on Social Media

A 21-year-old YouTube star who normally pulls pranks and does social experiments is putting his talents to other uses with a goal of showing teens and their parents how risky social media can be.

In a viral video, teenage girls are traumatized on camera in an attempt to send a powerful message – don’t go anywhere with a stranger.

Coby Persin made a fake Facebook account posing as a 15-year-old boy, and with their parents’ permission, contacted three girls aged 12, 13, and 14.

The video shows three scenarios.

He chatted with them online and arranged to meet up with each of the girls.

Unbeknownst to the girl, her dad was waiting with Persin.

In another case, a dad was sure his 12-year-old daughter knew about the dangers of speaking with strangers.

However, in doing this, Persin also made sure that the girls’ parents were in the loop about what was actually happening.

“God, I hope she doesn’t open that door”, the dad said – but she did.

But the daughter showed up, and they immediately grabbed her.

Even though all the parents all insisted that their daughters would not show up, they were soon proven wrong.

“Whatever trauma they had, in a real-life situation, it would have been 100 times worse”, he said.

Most parents think they have taught their children about social mediaand stranger danger but for some the message is not getting through
