According to the official Skype blog post detailing the new features, the communications service said that the upgrades were made in accordance to the feedback that it has received from its users, in a bid to further improve the user experience on Skype. From there, you can pick a new contact to forward the image onto.
The most interesting aspect of the update, well, if you are into personalized ringtones and the like, is that now you can choose which ringtone you want per contact, as long as the tone is saved on your device.
In addition to the new custom ringtone feature, the update brings the ability to share images from chats to other friends on Skype that aren’t part of the original chat.
An updated version of Skype for Android adds contact-specific ringtones. Skype’s new contextually-aware photo forwarding should make that easier, assuming you’re planning on sharing it in another Skype convo. An option to forward the photo will pop up, allowing the users to send the picture to any of their contacts. To assign a personalized ringtone, head to a conversation, tap the menu button at the bottom right corner and tap on “ringtone options”.
The latest Skype for Android update can be downloaded through the app itself or from the Google Play Store.
