The 33-year-old was appearing on ITV breakfast show Lorraine to promote her new single Threads but her “embarrassing” rendition immediately provoked a social media storm.
Coronation Street actress Sarah Harding has been slammed for her performance on ITV’s morning show Lorraine with many viewers complaining that the singer was blatantly miming. “Oh dear…#Lorraine”. “I’d rather watch her mime badly than listen to her attempting to sing #fail”. But there was a time she didn’t lip-sync – anyone remember this?
One person, called Maggie Stay Fit, posted: “I predict in the nxt he or so sarah Harding is gonna release a statement defending her terrible miming calling she’s got tonsillitis #Lorraine”.
Meanwhile, Sarah recently revealed what it was like when she had to give Tracey Barlow (Kate Ford) a “good slap” on her first day as Joni, the wife of Tracy’s first husband Robert Preston.
One, named Lisa Jane Thomas, wrote: ‘Corrie already has a handful of bad actors/actresses but Sarah Harding has taken it to a whole new level #cringe #corrie.’.
While another added: “Oh dear!”
Sarah said of her racy video: “I wanted something edgy, but not overtly sexy, so I wanted that rock chick feel about it, hence a bit of latex”.
Despite the controversy, Harding appeared unabashed by the critical response to her acting abilities and used the appearance on Lorraine to speak about how much she enjoyed it. “Potentially the worst I’ve ever seen”.
“I only agreed to it because I had a gap [in my schedule] and they knew I was a fan of the show and that I did some acting”.
