The search giant coincided its release with the announcement that the OS will officially be called Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Users will also see a significant boost on battery life, and while Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will make the handset much more regimented in memory management (it has a Smart Manager feature that shows the RAM Status and battery), it doesn’t bring the long-awaited fix for the notorious StageFright issue. Once developers are done testing them out on the co-branded devices, a public rollout to handsets made by various manufacturers will begin. Users can check out for the new firmware via the over-the-air (OTA) mechanism. For example, LG is also preparing to release this update for its devices including tablets and smartphones. It was earlier known as Android M but this is the new name now. Do you think that the new OS is going to be revealed next month? Unfortunately, we can’t confirm (yet) if the LG G Flex will be upgraded to this upcoming Android OS.

Samsung is in the process of updating its devices into the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version, specifically Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The older LG G3, however, will surely get it later than the LG G4.

The LG G4 might be assured with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update but nothing has been confirmed about the last LG G3 flagship device. Keep in mind that the Android version that will be released on these devices is not the Vanilla one but a modified version by LG. Other carriers are also expected to deliver Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the near future.

The arrival of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is getting closer. Right now, there are no further plans for any other LG updates to receive the latest Marshmallow update. Understandably, the model has been on the market for two years already, which is the maximum duration that most manufacturers allot for software development.

Slashgear has recently posted a possible list of all Samsung devices that will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, but unfortunately for Samsung Galaxy S5 users, the unit is not part of it. The list only includes Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 variants, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Alpha. At present, the device is only upgradable to Android 5.0.2.

Currently, it seems that no other LG tablet will get the Android 6.0, even if the LG Pad X 8.2 and LG G Pad II 8.0 were not released so long ago.
