The star took to Twitter to reveal that he has recorded the theme song for upcoming Bond flick Spectre.

The song, released by Capitol Records, will debut and be available to purchase and stream on September 25. Finally, three Billboard Awards in May capped off an incredible 12 months – made even more incredible after today’s annoucenment that he would be recoding the theme tune to the 24th James Bond installment, Spectre. “And I also wanted to make it an epic love song, so that’s all I’ll say”.

The young British crooner, who won multiple Grammy Awards in February for his hyper-sensitive retro-soul sound, will lend his voice to “Spectre”, due to hit American theaters November 6. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate with all of you tonight!’

Other contenders had included Ellie Goulding and Radiohead – with one British bookmaker suspending bets after someone tried to place a 15,000 pound wager on the band getting the gig.

It shows an elegant and confident-looking Daniel Craig in the front with probably a hint to the film’s opening sequence, set in Mexico at a day of the Dead celebration, in the background.

It had long been rumored that Sam would be following in Adele’s footsteps and singing the theme song, but he previously shot down the reports.
