Apple iPhone 6S teardown: The new iPhone 6s is seen during a product teardown by iFixit in this handout photo provided by iFixit.

Folks from iFixit noted that the brand new iPhone 6s is packed with the new Taptic Engine as well as the 3D Touch display.

All your photos will be HD: The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus each come with a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel FaceTime camera, which means larger panoramic images (sans stitching) and well-balanced light.

To that end, a new rumor from China has emerged which suggests that Apple could be interested in waterproofing its next-gen smartphone. In comparison, iPhone 6 has a 1,810 mAh batery and 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

In addition to silver, space grey and gold, the iPhone 6S (as well as the 6S Plus) is also available in a new colour, pink gold.

While the battery is smaller, Apple is still touting the same 14 hours to 10 days of battery life. The design has been made exceptionally well, and hardly a dent appeared on these smartphones during the tests.

To get a better understanding of this incredible new feature, check out our video from the Apple presentation below and check out more impressive iPhone camera specs. The above offer was for the 16GB iPhone 6s but you also have the 64GB iPhone 6s which is $99.99 upfront and it ranges anywhere between $10-$15 a month.

At the time of writing, folks from iFixit are not yet done with their teardown. I don’t understand why they had to cut down on the size of the internal battery.

While we of course wouldn’t recommend that anyone try and do some iPhone 6s waterproof testing on their own, the video above should be reassuring for iPhone 6s owners who have had the unfortunate experience of losing a previous iPhone to water damage.
