Ultimate Fighting Champion Ronda Rousey has landed the starring role in a remake of 1989 Patrick Swayze film “Road House“.
This is the fourth film being specifically developed for Rousey to star in, following news of her biopic My Fight/Your Fight, The Athena Project and Mile 22, which will be directed by Pete Berg.
Rousey made appearances this year in Furious 7, Entourage and The Expendables 3. In the movie Road House, Dalton plays as a “cooler” or a bouncer with a mysterious past who was asked to do a specialized doorman job at a club called Double Deuce.
The film does not yet have a script, but it is scheduled to begin production in 2016. She’s an fantastic fighter who seems fully capable of pulling off an action-oriented gender flip on a movie like Road House.
Though there is still no exact date of release or even the starting period of the taping, it can be recorded that the said role is not taken lightly by the UFC champ.
Before putting pen to paper, though, the MMA expert wanted to ensure that her involvement in the remake wasn’t going to tread on anyone’s toes, including – and especially – those belonging to Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi. “I promise to work incessantly to make sure this project is a tribute his friends and family can be proud of”.
