Ronda Rousey to play herself in biopic based on her autobiography

The UFC’s biggest star, Rousey arrived in Rio as the overwhelming favourite against Correia (9-1) after winning her previous three title defences in a combined 96 seconds. Variety reports that Rousey will be the star of the film version of ‘MyFight/YourFight’, her recently released autobiography, co-written with her sister.

– As we mentioned this weekend, the Diaz brothers were involved in a brawl with UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov at the WSOF 22 event. “A DNB. The kind of chick that just tries to be pretty and be taken care of by someone else”, she said.

Despite being dominated by Claudia Gadelha, Jessica Aguilar moved from #15 (her introductory spot) to #11 among women’s strawweights.

Since UFC only has two women’s weight divisions, strawweight (115 pounds) and bantamweight (135 pounds), Rousey has never had to fight at any weight higher than 135, in recent years. “If I was Cyborg, I would have tried to jump into the Octagon (after Rousey’s win)”. In her latest match, Rousey was able to knockout Bethe Correia in 34 seconds flat. Whether the comment was unintentional to highlight that said incident or not, Rousey surely made the fight personal. I’m not going to have to think about her ever again after this day and I’m sure she’ll have to think about me plenty.

Rousey has a lot on her plate before filming can begin however.

“I was so happy to have this opportunity because I really do believe that there shouldn’t be one cookie cutter body type that everyone is aspiring to be”, she told SI in a behind-the-scenes video. “I hope this was the last time”.

After the fight, Dana White said in the press conference that he absolutely would want to put Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey on the same card. I will give her the chance to get the belt back.

The addition of top-notch striking to the rest of her game makes the most dominant fighter in the world even scarier. When she got to her feet, Rousey was there and ripped off a combination.
