Dave Hagewood, president of “Rocket League” developer Psyonix, told PC Gamer in an interview that they plan to introduce diverse fields with different shapes in the game as free DLC in the future.
“Rocket League” is due to receive update 1.04 this month, which will add ranked 3v3 matches, the Utopia Coliseum map, Spectator Mode, and more.
The patch adds its own set of new features including the ability to spectate private matches. In another inch towards esports, players can now watch matches and study the game from every angle. Finally, 70+ new flags will be available – yes, North Korea is one of them – as well as three “sorry” items in order to apologize for the rocky launch: the aptly named “Servergate” wheels, “Disconnected” Antenna, and a simple White Flag. Skill ratings are now calculated on dedicated servers, the “Connect Failure” issue has been addressed and Ranked matches will no longer start if both teams aren’t full. Sore losers can still abandon their teammates in ranked mode if things don’t seem to be going well, but now those left behind can vote to end the incoming goalkrieg early if they don’t want to keep playing against uneven odds.
Up to four Party member’s Battle-Cars can now be displayed on the Menu screens.
The official Rocket League Twitter account made the announcement of the patch release and revealed when the Supersonic Fury DLC is being released.
