The Patriots faced allegations after being caught taping opposing teams’ hand signals in what would eventually be known as “Spygate“.
Eight days after the NFL announced the employees’ suspension, ESPN reported that the league asked the Patriots to suspend McNally and Jastremski prior to discipline being issued, citing anonymous sources.
The two alleged ball deflators, equipment assistant John Jastremski and officials locker room attendant Jim McNally, were suspended by the Patriots following the investigation into whether Tom Brady was involved in the purported scheme to use improperly inflated footballs during the AFC title game last season.
Former Patriots players said they are frustrated with all the negative news surrounding their old team and are hoping the Patriots can focus on the game and leave the scandals behind them. He also gave coach Bill Belichick the floor – he was fined $500,000, twice the amount the team paid – and the coach allegedly claimed to have “misinterpreted a league rule” and thought that practice was legal as long as the information wasn’t used in real time.
Now Brady is back in the National Football League, where he should be. “It’s time to start playing and figuring all that out so we’ll do it”.
And Ndamukong Suh’s presence in Miami is one more reason for Brady to worry about the pass rush.
