Rockers of Radiohead have become unexpected favourites to be named the new musicians behind the next James Bond theme tune after a sudden flurry of bets at UK bookmakers.
Goulding has yet to elaborate on the teasing post, but on Wednesday, bosses at British betting firm William Hill announced they were suspending wagers on who will sing the new 007 theme song after a number of bets were suddenly placed on Radiohead.
Yesterday it was thought that Goulding may have posted the closest hint yet that she will be performing on the Bond soundtrack.
As a representative for oddsmakers William Hill told NME, “There seem to be all kinds of rumors and the plot has had more twists and turns than a classic Bond tale, but surely nobody risks £15,000 on a hunch”.
That said, director Sam Mendes has gone on record to say that the title track has already been recorded and sounds “fantastic”, which would mean Goulding’s Instagram was strategically scheduled to come just as speculation about the song is reaching a fever pitch. According to Showbiz 411, the singer registered a new song called “Spy” with BMI, and recently tweeted “Live and let die”, the name of the 1973 Bond film. (Mendes and Daniel Craig are both reported to be big fans, for what it’s worth.) That was a big enough chunk of change to necessitate a suspension of all betting on the Spectre theme by that particular bookie.
My money is still on Goulding.
The English band featuring Thom Yorke has emerged as the favorite to perform the theme of “Spectre“, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
After watching this “action packed” trailer, we will all be very excited to see our favourite MI6 agent in action once more.
