Little has gone right for the Champions since the season started.

Arsenal returned to winning ways with a hard-fought win over ten-man Newcastle at St James’ Park, but there was no such joy for Liverpool.

Newcastle United managed to keep the clean sheet, but their resistance was broken in the second-half of the game.

The defeat against West Ham was Liverpool’s first of the season following two wins and a draw prior to Saturday.

Mid-priced midfielders hit the heights at the weekend, with the costliest of these, Swansea’s Andre Ayew (£7.0 million), continuing his superb start to the season.

On early evidence, three games into the new season, there are a number of sides who might sustain an assault on the title.

Now bear with us: we know he scored a hat-trick the other day, but that still puts his record at a mightily unimpressive three goals in his last 11 games.

Delaney is a terrific trier, but – let’s face it – not good enough for the Premier League. “Maybe this is the first time in my life, but I appreciate this kind of story”. Topping the goal scoring charts so far this season with four goals apiece are Bafetimbi Gomis (Swansea), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City), and Callum Wilson (Bournemouth).

Bournemouth have only lost one of their last 12 home league matches (W6 D5). Pulis has faced his fair share of criticism over the years due to a direct approach and out-muscling opponents, but in the fierce world of Premier League survival, you can hardly blame him when it produces much needed victories.

However, instead of kicking on and grabbing a victor, Chelsea found themselves taking the ball out of the back of their net again, as Joel Ward scored the victor two-minutes later.

Chelsea have conceded 2+ goals in back-to-back Premier League home games for the first time since November 2011. The Blues were strong in the first 45 minutes but that would all change after the interval.

While Mourinho didn’t do anybody a favor by calling out the fans for the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge and probably shouldn’t have said it, he did have a point in that the crowd could definitely be better for most games – including the key matches against rival clubs.

Chelsea’s four point total is the second lowest at this stage of a Premier League season by a reigning champion, after Blackburn’s three in 1995/96.

The defeats leaves Chelsea eight-points behind leaders Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League standings.

Here is our team of the week, including some of West Ham and Crystal Palace’s heroes from Saturday, as well as a Swansea star who overcame Man United on Sunday.

Courtois saw a red card and spent one match on the bench, which further amplified their problems and the backup goalie is hardly a worthy replacement.

Goals from Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble (before he was sent off) and Diafra Sakho, guided West Ham United to a commanding 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, as Philippe Coutinho was also sent off in the second half for two bookable offenses.
