Like so many other Volkswagen Group brands, Porsche had lots to get excited about in the way of new product at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Under the back cover there’s a new twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine as the 911 line makes the complete switch to the turbocharging technology – inside the Carrera S it develops 420 PS (309 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque – 20 PS and 60 Nm more than its predecessor.

The 2017 Porsche 911 looks pretty much the same as the one that came before it, but the biggest difference is something that can’t really be seen from the outside: Every 911 from now on will be a 911 turbo (with a lower case “t”, that is).

“It’s not yet decided, but I expect for sure in the next ten years there will be at least one hybrid version of the 911 and maybe more”, Porsche engineer August Achleitner told Motoring. Porsche also claims that these engines will be 12 percent more fuel efficient. A 911 Carrera Coupe with PDK and Sport Chrono Pack now does the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 4.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 295km/h (183mph). The redesigned Porsche 911 is expected to have a starting price of a little over £76, 000. The re-engineered models will be launched in Germany in December and will go on sale in the U.S.in March. The adjustments can be made on Porsche’s Active Suspension Management System, the sports exhaust and the PDK transmission.

Then, there is also the new infotainment system equipped with all the tech bells and whistles such as Apple CarPlay, Google Earth and Google Street View, with support for multitouch gestures, Mashable noted.

A “Sport Response” knob is an added feature that braces the drivetrain for a 20-second maximum acceleration through optimum gear selection and engine adjustment for improved response. This cruise control comes with a coasting function and also allows for braking during downhill drive to keep the auto at pre-set speeds.
