“Northeastern Police are coordinating with Boston Police in responding to the incident”.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon on Huntington Avenue near Boston House of Pizza.

The men were apparently targeting someone who lives at that facility, Evans told WBZ.

The victim, who is believed to be in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment via Boston EMS. However, Evans said the shooting had “nothing to do with the university”.

After the shooting, Northeastern issued an alert warning students to avoid the area, near 319 Huntington Avenue.

Evans said, fortunately, no one else was hurt.

Northeastern freshman Jake Laport heard the shooting from down the street. “But at the end of the day, I really hope it’s kind of an eye-opener”.

There are no suspects and no motive at this time, police said.
