A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Van Nuys.
Los Angeles police fatally shot a man after he attacked an officer with a “hard object” in Van Nuys on Friday, August 28, 2015, officials said.
At some point, after the officers arrived, an altercation ensued between the officers and the suspect.
The LAPD, district attorney’s office and independent inspector general are investigating the incident, according to the station.
Jackson was standing outside a residence in the 3100 block of Canfield Avenue in the South Robertson area about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when several shots were fired at him, a detective told us.
Police say two officers were treated for minor to moderate injuries.
It was not immediately known if a police dashboard camera recorded the confrontation, Vanegas said.
Authorities this morning are still trying to find out information about the dead man, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of the Operations an Investigations for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
