Nintendo and Bandai Namco have announced that Pokken Tournament is coming to the Wii U early next year. The first trailer was shown off during the opening ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships in Boston. Bandai Namco have already provided two great fighters on the Wii U: the launch title Tekken Tag Tournament and they also heavily assisted with the development of the recently released Super Smash Bros. Arcade fighting games usually take some time before getting released on home consoles and PC so today’s announcement was definitely surprising for most.
You can check out the announcement trailer above to get your fill of Pokemon-on-Pokemon violence, and be sure to stick around for the whole thing. You will – wait, is that Pikachu dress as a luchadores!?!? Pikachu Libre will make his debut in the Wii U version of Pokken Touranment. Indeed; Pokken Tournament looks destined to be yet another great game from the developers.
