Bridgette Dawkins lives in the neighborhood, and said when she saw the photo, it made her sick.
Gaffney police are investigating after a photo was posted on social media of a teenager sticking her toe in a baby’s mouth.
Lt. Ron Ramsey, of the Gaffney Police Department, said the department is consulting with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Juvenile Justice to determine if there is any wrongdoing.
“It’s very disturbing”, said Dawkins. It is looking into whether the home, which was not registered with the state, needed a license. The news crew didn’t knock because there was a “No trespassing” sign in the front yard. The picture quickly circulated on social media accounts, grabbing the attention of parents who say they drop their children off at the home.
Dawkins said she sees kids at the house all the time but isn’t sure if it’s a day care or not. Police said a 15-year-old girl who was visiting the babysitter’s home put her toe in the baby’s mouth and took a picture of it.
“Somebody should be apologizing, and there should be something done about it”, Dawkins said. According to police, the family takes the child to the home to be looked after while they are at work and on the day of the incident, a 15-year-old stopped by the house to visit the homeowner’s daughter.
