While many are reserved when it comes to Minecraft: Story Mode, I’m very excited to get my hands on it, and hopefully that won’t be too far into the future.
Telltale Games revealed to The Verge today that the upcoming adventure series will be released on Wii U. The developer announced this while speaking with The Verge, further stating that while they’re striving to pull in new fans with their latest episodic adventure game, their ultimate goal is to please the existing fanbase. Nice to see that change. Revealed earlier this year at Minecon in London, “Minecraft: Story Mode” is indeed coming, and sooner than expected. All of those knock-offs on the eShop can continue to rest easy and rake in cash.
Players will take control of protangonist Jesse – portrayed by actor Patton Oswalt – as he teams up with a group of friends to find The Order of the Stone to save their world from oblivion.
It looks like a good Minecraft news week all around. It has developed games for popular television shows like “The Walking Dead” and “Game of Thrones”. If you are going to be at PAX Prime, you can go to Telltale Games’ booth (which is booth #3117) to check out Minecraft: Story Mode and nab yourself a shirt or two. Nevertheless, fans of both the developer and of Minecraft as a franchise will be sure to keep a close eye on how the game develops.
Mojang’s sandbox, world-building game has spread across to a number of devices beyond its more traditional PC and console roots, including the likes of iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Raspberry Pi.
There is no release date for Minecraft: Story Mode yet, but we do know it is being released by the end of the year.
