OnePlus 2 to be launched in India tomorrow, specs leaked

Using a virtual reality app, the company behind the newest smartphone the OnePlus 2 unveiled their new flagship device. Marred by pre-launch leaks, the price of the OnePlus 2 still kept the buzz going strong till the company did not announce it at its event. It also sports dual 4G Nano-SIM cards (dual-SIM dual standby), as well as USB Type-C connectivity (with the cable reversible at both ends).

The OnePlus 2 will become available for purchase starting August 11 in US, Canada, India, EU, and China regions. “We expect to sell one million units of OnePlus One and Two by December”, OnePlus India general manager Vikas Agarwal told PTI.

OnePlus 2 draws its juice from a 3300mAh battery and will start selling from August 11.

The phone is also the first device to launch with the USB-C connector, so be prepared to buy all-new chargers all over again.

While on papers everything looks great about this smartphone, I have a few concerns about OnePlus 2: the first being the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which has got heating issues and second, the Oxygen OS.

The hype was also because the launch took place in a unique way. The $329 model includes 16GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, while another $60 will boost you to 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. Below the display is hardware button that houses a fingerprint scanner, which the company says is faster than the iPhone’s TouchID and lets users save up to five fingerprints.

The phone comes with four StyleSwap Covers: Bamboo, Rosewood, Black Apricot and Kevlar.

OnePlus has provided Android Lollipop-based OxygenOS on the OnePlus 2 with some of its proprietary features like screen gestures and dark mode. OnePlus’ announcement for the OnePlus 2 has just wrapped up, and now we have every last bit of information about this device. Unfortunately, the company is sticking with the infuriating invite system for the OnePlus 2 just like past year.

In addition to the killer specs, the OnePlus 2 will come with the trademark black sandstone effect back, but can be swapped out with more stylish designs such as wood or carbon fibre, all for around £17. The phone packs a 3,300mAh that is approximately 10% bigger than the 3,100mAh battery of the original model.
