The UMass Minutemen will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Saturday afternoon at Notre Dame.

I will concede Notre Dame has one of the best collection of athletes in the country, but so does Miami, Clemson, and uga, all teams toppled by this very crew within the year. Through the first month of the season the Irish are averaging 284 on the ground, which is good for sixth in all of college football.

Kelly has said he doesn’t believe there’s anything that can be done about the rash of injuries, pointing out that the injuries have occurred in a variety of ways on grass and artificial surfaces.
Kelly said he challenged his team to play at a higher level at the break.

Kizer increased the lead to 14-0 on a 7-yard scoring run with 19 seconds remaining in the first quarter. As the first quarter ended Marquis Young put the Minutemen on the board with an 83-yard run to make it a 14-6 game as the extra point was blocked.
Notre Dame is about to embark on a tough stretch of games in the next few weeks.

That, and a reverse pass from Blake Frohnapfel to Shakur Nesmith that netted 56 yards and set up a TD, backed up Russell’s explanation of the gimmicks. “I have complete confidence that we’re going to put together a great game plan for Clemson”.
Sophomore safety Drue Tranquill suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after an breaking up a pass in the end zone during Notre Dame’s 30-22 victory over Georgia Tech. Tajae Sharpe and Marken Michel have combined for 419 receiving yards and one touchdown while Rodney Mills has five receptions. “We haven’t hit our ceiling yet”, said Prosise, who has 600 rushing yards this season.
