Like always, Nintendo is yet to say a word but I have to say NX is shaping up to be quite a project.
Freepatentsonline was nice enough to give us our first look at this new patent and the helpful lads and ladies at Neogaf were able to break it down and show us the really pertinent info.
Nintendo has reportedly already filed for the patent for this new device.
The patent for haptic feedback concerns the use of controllable rumble in a touch screen, dependent on how the user is inputting the screen.
Another notable difference is the inclusion of two front buttons instead of the more common four.
Unlike other Nintendo handheld models, the minimal button controller focuses more on moving its rotational shoulders, an innovative approach the company may be shifting to in an attempt to evolve, and even shake up, the way video games are played. Although Nintendo is yet to detail on the patent, it seems that the shoulder buttons are geared to act as replacements from the usual shoulder triggers.
One last reason suggesting Nintendo may be closing in on the formal announcement of the NX console are the recent leaks about its rumored controller. Just last month, a Nintendo patent revealed that the company is working on a console that will no longer sport an optical drive, What Culture reports.
There are at least a few possible indicators that may indeed be hinting at Nintendo releasing the NX console by next year. Check out the images below and see if anything stands out to you when it comes to this latest Nintendo NX filing. It is not yet known how well this upcoming console will fare against other consoles but players could expect another totally new experience from Nintendo in the future.
