The recently released surveillance video shows Blake leaning against a pillar outside of his hotel when a large man runs out of nowhere, and aggressively pulls him down to the ground.

What if he hadn’t been so passive, he says, with the stranger who rushed him without saying a word?

The furore began on Wednesday when Blake was waiting outside the five star Hyatt Hotel in New York while attending the US Open.

“I know they put him on modified assignment, which is a good first step, but I do think there needs to be more actions taken”, Blake told The Post.

Stephen Davis, the NYPD’s top spokesman, released the video on Friday and said Blake was interviewed by internal affairs detectives on Thursday night.

“I think to talk about it in this incident would diminish what it’s really about, which is the brutality, which is the excessive force, especially for someone that is suspected as a nonviolent criminal and showing no danger”, Mr. Blake said.

Blake said Saturday that he hasn’t decided whether to sue over what police described as a sting operation gone awry. “Just the nature, what he described is not what we do, it’s not what we’re supposed to do”, Bratton said.

Fracatore’s assault on Blake, based upon mistaken identity, has drawn criticism from Mayor Bill de Blasio to Police Commissioner Bill Bratton who said that the department was not aware of the incident until Blake called their attention to it because Frascatore co=vered it up in his report. It is why the City has already invested almost $29 million to retrain approximately 22,000 uniformed service members – with thousands more to be retrained in the coming months. The complaints against Frascatore were first reported by radio’s WNYC. He said the officer never identified himself. “This happened to my friend, my father, my brother, ‘” he said. I think they should be considered heroes. And while I continue to believe the vast majority of our police officers are dedicated public servants who conduct themselves appropriately, I know that what happened to me is not uncommon.

“The officer did a professional job of bringing the individual to the ground to prevent that occurrence”, he said. Blake doesn’t appear to be resisting arrest. All of the officers were white.

Blake spoke exclusively to the Daily News not even two hours after the incident, which has resulted in apologies from Mayor DiBlasio and NYPD Commissioner William Bratton.

Blake, who is mixed race, said race may have contributed to the incident.

When asked if Blake was considering a lawsuit, the retired tennis star says that misses the point.

Officer Frascatore is now behind a desk after having his gun and shield confiscated. Officials said the matter is being investigated.

According to the New York Times’ Benjamin Mueller and Nate Schweber, two black men from Queens, New York, revealed that Frascatore allegedly used unnecessary force during encounters over the past three years. “In my opinion he should never have a badge again because I think it’s people like him that give the entire force a bad name”.
